When you arrive and come in
The Maritime Museum is by the harbour. Look out for the ship’s figurehead above the entrance!
Staff will welcome you when you arrive and provide information while you buy your ticket.

Useful places
Toilets are on the ground floor near the entrance. You start the visit by going up the stairs or in the lift. If you want you can borrow a dressing up costume.

First floor
There are interactive exhibits to explore in each room. You can look around in your own time. Look out for the aquarium filled with knitted fish!
Balcony
There is a balcony where you can look down on the lower level of the museum.
On the way down the slope to the ground floor you can see paintings and photographs on the wall. You can open the small wooden boxes to see objects inside.
You can walk on the deck of a replica ship.

The balcony
Ground floor and globe room
Some of the exhibits make a lot of noise.
You can follow a ship as it travels around the big globe. The ship’s cabin is a small space which creates a rocking motion so you can see and feel what it would be like on board a ship. You can get out at any time if you don’t like it!
There is a beach hut with lots of hidden interactive models.
You can choose to watch videos about Jersey’s coastal trades.
Don’t try the exhibit in this photograph if you don’t like strange smells!

The next gallery tells the story of a small boat called the Diana.
In the final room, there are various fun mirrors and character boards to enjoy. There is also a small cinema room which is quite dark.

This is located at the Maritime Museum and tells the story of the German Occupation in the Second World War through a series of tapestries and a film.
