Heritage Lets Properties

History

In 2005  we begun a programme of restoring some of the historic military sites, historic buildings and heritage cottages across the Island.  In 2006 the first restored forts, towers and cottages opened as ‘Heritage Lets’.

There are now 21 sites in the programme and the Heritage Lets scheme is now universally regarded as a great success. A significant number of commercially and culturally redundant  buildings at risk were given a long-term future and are now rented out as holiday cottages, towers and forts.   Each year the Heritage Lets are enjoyed by thousands of Islanders and tourists.

Funds earned from the Heritage Lets programme are ring-fenced for maintenance and development of further properties.

    Great Staycation!

We our wedding at Hamptonne and decided to have a staycation a week after the wedding. All the Staff at Jersey Heritage were so helpful and extremely friendly and could not do enough for us during our stay. Highly recommend a stay cation and we shall certainly look to book gain in the future

  • Elizabeth Castle Apartment

    Lovely unique stay,

Staying in the castle was a lovely experience but I wish there were a few more heritage features and a little more time spent on the finer details. Staying at the castle is brilliant but it does mean you’re quite restricted in when you can go out due to the tides and the ferry. Whilst the option to walk across at low tide is there, it’s not always practical with little children, which means your days end around 4, so enjoying an evening meal out isn’t an option. A few added details wouldn’t go amiss, like a reminder of the tide times, especially because it’s not always what is advertised on the website and it’s not easy to remember. Also, a stash of beach toys or similar especially for people travelling from off Jersey who are limited in what they can bring. All the staff were friendly and lovely and welcoming and we had a brilliant stay.

    Stunning, unique and peaceful

Glorious, unique, clean, interesting and delightful historic property that is a privilege, and a treat, to occupy. Quirky in its 4 rooms with individual external access, but beautifully designed and presented, an utter treat to rent, I’ll be back!!! Thank you, even the extra bin bags are folded!! Amazing!!

    Sensational views all weekend!

Everything was as advertised and truly better than expected. The quirky octagonal floor shape at each level would be a challenge for most interior designers but the bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms made the most of the space offering comfortable accommodation and full facilities - note there’s no bath, should that be an issue to you.
