This year’s event, held in association with Rock n Road, takes place at 12.15pm on Tuesday, 27 September and involves relay teams of two racing from the shore out to Elizabeth Castle and back at low tide.
Jess Stanier, Jersey Heritage’s Head of Marketing, said: “As past participants tell us, the Hawksford Castle Chase is a “harder than it looks” distance of two miles across the sand. It’s a great event for team building and a great way to spend your lunchtime while also raising money for our work to share the Island’s story.
“This the fourth year that we’ve held the Castle Chase and it’s especially popular with corporate organisations, who field multiple teams to have some fun while competing against each other. We look forward to seeing everyone who takes part in the 2022 event and thank them for their support, which is especially important this year as we begin our restoration project at Elizabeth Castle.”
It costs £25 for a team of two to take part in the Hawksford Castle Chase and there are discounts for companies entering five or more teams. All the money raised supports Jersey Heritage’s work.
Daniel Hainsworth, Global Head of Corporate Services at Hawksford, said: “The Hawksford Castle Chase is a firm fixture in the Jersey sporting calendar, and we are very proud to be continuing our support of this much-loved event.
“Being Jersey’s only lunchtime beach trail means that this is always a popular event, made even more special by the fact that it raises such vital funds for Jersey Heritage. Here at Hawksford, we strive to make a positive difference to the communities in which we operate, and our support of the Castle Chase is a fantastic reflection of this approach. We can’t wait to welcome Islanders taking part this year and look forward to seeing the impact that the funds raised will have on our community.”
