Jersey wedding law
If you are not resident in Jersey but are planning an overseas wedding, Jersey is the perfect location as wedding law only requires couples to be on-island for 72 hours ahead of getting married, as explained here.
Cross the sea from Jersey to the rocky islet where Elizabeth Castle sits. You will be escorted on our Castle Ferry, which sets the tone for your adventure together to begin.
Walking through the Castle grounds, you will enjoy the greenery of the Parade Ground and take in the grandeur of the Castle itself, towering over St Aubin’s Bay.
Have your civil wedding ceremony in the intimate location of the ‘Governor’s House’, which can host up to 100 guests.
Built in the 1590’s, this building had famous residents including Sir Walter Raleigh and King Charles II.
The Governor’s House is a granite building which looks out over a large grassy terrace, and the beautiful blue ocean surroundings.
After you are your ceremony you can enjoy drinks at the Castle terrace, providing a show stopping background for your photos.
Due to its unique location access is very dependent on the tide and weather, as the Castle Ferry will take you and your guests to and from the castle. This adds a truly unforgettable element to your day!
The Castle Ferry can operate at all times except when the tide is high and the wind is strong creating a rough sea. Please take advice from our staff when booking your wedding.
