Join us for a 1 hour guided tour of this unique “frozen in time” Cold War Bunker used to monitor the arrival or potential arrival of radioactive fallout. Learn about this communications command centre from our local guide who trained as part of the team passing and receiving messages from other bunkers throughout the UK and Europe.
You will view the control centre and communications hub where the team would work together to plot data on situations boards, see the technology of the time used in the meteorological room and the radio room where public safety information would have been broadcast to islanders and take a look at the living quarters of where the team would eat and sleep in the event of any potential nuclear emergency.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a short flight of steps to access the property, with limited disabled access.
Directions
From St Helier, proceed along Rouge Bouillon, turn left at the traffic lights by the Robin Hood pub. Head towards Waitrose, turn right into the second entrance, approximately 50 yards from the pub. The entrance to the bunker is about 20 yards in front of you.
Parking
There is no parking on-site.
