At the moment of Occupation, Olive and her husband chose to stay behind on the farm, demonstrating resilience and resourcefulness in the face of adversity.
With limited supplies, food management became an art of creativity. Olive had to devise recipes that maximised the use of available ingredients, such as root vegetables, foraged items or whatever could be grown on the farm.

Listen to Olive’s tales and insights into rural Jersey life during the challenging five years of Occupation.
